1.1 Background of the Study
Film has proven to be a powerful medium for influencing societal attitudes, behaviors, and economic activities. Beyond its entertainment value, it serves as an educational and motivational tool, inspiring individuals to pursue entrepreneurial ventures and develop business acumen. In regions like Tafa Local Government Area, where entrepreneurship offers a viable pathway to economic empowerment, films showcasing entrepreneurial success stories, challenges, and strategies have become instrumental in shaping mindsets (Eze & Ibrahim, 2023). Recent studies highlight how films with entrepreneurial themes not only inspire action but also provide practical knowledge on business planning, financial literacy, and innovation (Adebayo & Usman, 2024). By blending storytelling with real-world insights, such films resonate with audiences and foster a culture of entrepreneurship. This study examines the impact of film in promoting entrepreneurial development in Tafa, focusing on its influence on aspirations, knowledge acquisition, and business practices.
1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the growing recognition of entrepreneurship as a key driver of economic development, many communities in Nigeria, including Tafa Local Government Area, face challenges such as limited access to education, resources, and mentorship. While films have the potential to address these gaps by providing motivational and informational content, their effectiveness in promoting entrepreneurship in Tafa remains under-researched (Abdullahi & Yusuf, 2023). Additionally, concerns about the alignment of film content with local realities and the availability of relevant films for rural audiences hinder their impact. This study seeks to address these issues by evaluating the role of films in fostering entrepreneurship development in Tafa and identifying ways to maximize their effectiveness.
